As I visit with our academic units as part of my Conversations with the Provost, I’m struck by the thoughtful questions I’m hearing and the dedication I’m seeing. These are tough times for higher education and CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó is certainly subject to the national challenges.  What I’m seeing in these conversations, however, are committed people who are a match for the moment. I want to thank our faculty and staff, department chairs and our deans and their teams for their hard work and vision in carrying out our academic mission.

In this month’s Provost’s Post, I invite you to read the Perspectives interview with Fernando Rosario-Ortiz , interim vice chancellor for academic resource management, about developing a new and lasting vision for online education. It’s a great opportunity for our faculty to find new ways to leverage their research, scholarship and creative work into coursework, and a vital resource to help our students in completing their educational journeys. It’s an exciting time to consider how online education can further enhance our residential campus programs.

Other great stories in this edition will update you on an upcoming budget town hall, on the workings of the search advisory committee for dean of University Libraries, and on our celebration of 131 faculty at convocation.
