Torin Hopkins is a musician, researcher, and educator who focuses on designing technology to advance musicianship, musical practice, and cognitive health. He recently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the National University of Singapore in computer science, where he collaborated with the school of medicine to develop AI-assisted music therapies for stroke rehabilitation and language learning. He received a triple PhD from the 91Ҹ, 91Ҹ in neuroscience, cognitive science, and creative technology & design where he studied how we learn music and built systems that incorporated: AI-driven musicians, brain-computer interfaces, networked extended reality environments, and novel performance paradigms. Over his career he has also worked in neurobiology (Southern Illinois School of Medicine), cognitive neuroscience (Evanston Hospital), music education (over 15 years of practice), AI and VR research (Ericsson 91Ҹ), and music health research (Studios Education, Victor Wooten Center for Music and Nature).
