My research interests are varied and are mainly focused on climate dynamics, predictability, data assimilation, and geophysical fluid dynamics.
The main focus of my work is currentlyÌýin gaining a better understanding of processes that impact extreme weather especially on subseasonal-to-seasonal timescales as well as better modeling of theÌýÌýand its teleconnectionsÌýusing global climate 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó (such as the Community Earth System Model () and ECMWFÌý).ÌýI am actively working onÌýstochastic parameterization for better representation of physical processes in climate 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó.ÌýAnother focus of my work isÌýon data assimilation in coupled ocean-atmosphere 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. In the past, I have worked on assimilating ship cruise and satellite observed data into a regional eddy-permitting ocean model of the South East Pacific to better understand mesoscale ocean processes in this region using a regional ocean model calledÌý.ÌýI also study nonlinear data assimilation techniques to improve upon the Ensemble Kalman Filter and Adjoint-based methods in data assimilation into simplified nonlinear 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó of the atmosphere and climate.
I am also a visiting scholar in theÌýÌýgroup in theÌýÌýat theÌý.ÌýI graduated fromÌýtheÌýÌýatÌýÌýin 2012.Ìý I previously obtained M.Sc. (Engg.) fromÌýÌýin 2006 and B.Tech fromÌýÌýin 2004.
