About 175 people attended the fourth annual Colorado Pollinator Summit, “Protecting Colorado’s Biodiversity," which was planned by the Community Engagement, Design and 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó center and others. The Nov. 1 event featured plenary talks and panels on urban neighborhoods, landscaping for biodiversity and holistic farming in Colorado.

Can you afford to purchase a home in 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó?  Most people can't.  And many small businesses have been forced out by high rents. So have working families, students, university staff, immigrants and others.

CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó researchers and faculty, and the city of 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó discussed how innovative partnerships between university researchers and cities are critical to mitigating climate change during a panel at the national MetroLab Summit, held at the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó campus Thursday.

The city of 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó and a group from CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó led by the Community Engagement, Design and 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Center (CEDaR), are hosting the MetroLab Summit, a high-profile conference focused on city-university partnerships and urban innovation.

In partnership with the city of 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó, CEDaR investigators are analyzing residents’ baseline knowledge of the Emerald Ash Borer and proposing ways to address the infestation through environmental education efforts, as well as public-private partnerships.

Louise Chawla, CEDaR fellow and professor emerita, Mara Mintzer, Growing Up 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó program director, and Victoria Derr, authors of "Placemaking with Children and Youth: Participatory Practices for Planning Sustainable Communities," received the 2019 Environmental Design 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Association (EDRA) Achievement Award for their publication at EDRA’s 50th anniversary conference. The book has received endorsements from many of the most respected child/youth environmental researchers, practitioners and advocates.

Gov. Jared Polis signed into law a bill that expands regulatory protections for residents across the state’s roughly 900 mobile home parks.

KGNU has a live conversation about a new, first in the nation, printed child-friendly city map that’s helping kids learn how to navigate their way around 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó.

Working with about 700 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó elementary students and two 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó environmental design seniors, Growing Up 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó has created a new, child-friendly map of the city.

Kids in 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó will now be able to navigate around town thanks to the first ever child-friendly map, a map made for kids, by kids.
