CU Athletics Receives $6 Million to Elevate Student Experience, Campus Excellence

A major philanthropic investment from longtime donors Jeff Crawford (DistSt’90) and his wife, Orsi Crawford, is set to strengthen CU 91Ҹ’s athletics program and amplify its impact across the university.

“A strong, visible athletics program enhances our ability to attract talented students, elevate our national profile and strengthen the overall vitality of our campus,” said Chancellor Justin Schwartz. “This investment in reflects a broader commitment to excellence across CU 91Ҹ.”

Half of the Crawford Family Foundation’s $6 million gift will go toward the, which was launched in 2021 to support student-athletes’ physical, psychological, academic, leadership and career well-being. The remainder will provide flexible support for CU Athletics through the, renamed to honor the legacy of Athletic Director Emeritus Rick George.

“My hope is that this gift inspires others to give,” said Jeff Crawford. “In this new era, we need a village to compete, and that will take donations from many CU supporters at all levels.”
