Title:Ìý REESEN: A Remotely Sensed Ensemble to Understand Human Impacts on the Water Cycle

Short description: The Earth system is no longer governed exclusively by natural processes.ÌýThis research will develop a new ensemble dataset (called REESEN)Ìýto provide global water balance estimates, with an emphasis on anthropogenic water management features.ÌýThe approach will combine a large array of existing remote-sensing datasets and is different from other water balance analyses because it will not rely on land-surface 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. Instead, the new dataset will be compared to land surface simulations and reference products that do not include human activities in order to quantify anthropogenic impacts over major global river basins.
