Lucy O’Byrne

Lucy O’Byrne

Hi! My name is Lucy O’Byrne and I am majoring in Jazz Saxophone Performance. I am originally from Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and am a big outdoors person in addition to being a musician. I love many types of music and love writing and playing music that combines different genres. I am an overall creative and love fusing my different creative interests to create interesting and unique art. I am into sewing and crocheting in addition to music, and I make many of my own clothes. I love working with other musicians, sharing ideas and getting music recommendations from others. I came to CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó because it allows me to enjoy the amazing outdoor environment, combined with the inviting community and the unbeatable music program and faculty.

David Guy

David Guy

Hello! My name is David Guy and I am a second-year music education and bassoon performance major from Aurora, Colorado. I came to CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó because of the music education department’s strong track record and the well-respected bassoon studio. The location and scenery are also hard to beat. My favorite part of attending school here has been the many performance opportunities I’ve had and the chance to play with people far better than I am. While there are many great universities for students to consider, I can’t imagine finding such impactful communities, experiences and opportunities anywhere else.

Sabrina Klinker

Sabrina Klinker

Hi! My name is Sabrina Klinker and I am majoring in percussion performance, minoring in geology and business. I love playing in all forms and genres of percussion, but classical marimba and grunge drumset hold a special place in my heart. I am local to Colorado now, but was raised in Georgia. I'm an avid hiker, snowboarder and runner in my free time. I enjoy going to the gym in the mornings, and crocheting or cross stitching in the evenings. I spend every moment of my life appreciating art through all forms. CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó has opened so many opportunities for me through means of academics and lifestyle.

Gwen Milette

Gwen Milette

Hello! I am Gwen Milette, a third-year trumpet performance and music education major at CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó’s College of Music. I am originally from Dallas, Texas, where I began music at a young age and fell in love with it. Since starting my college career at CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó, I have been involved in many on- and off-campus activities that have allowed me to grow into the performer, educator and person I am today. I currently serve as president-elect for CU’s NAfME (National Association for Future Music Educators) chapter, work at two high schools in the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó area and have had the opportunity to play in CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó’s nationally recognized Trumpet Ensemble. My summers consist of marching drum corps with the Phantom Regiment— and in my free time I enjoy thrifting around 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó, hanging out with my cat and going on my never-ending quest to find the best ramen place in town.

Around campus, I am heavily involved in the College of Music’s mainstage musical theatre productions as well as Greek life. I look forward to welcoming students and helping them find their home at the College of Music.
