The 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó is committed to fostering a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, students, affiliates, and visitors. Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management teams leverage cross-campus expertise to mitigate risk, enhance outcomes, and provide individualized support to impacted people. BTAM teams prioritize education and prevention while maintaining commitment to process efficiency and the safety, wellbeing and success of every person at CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. By taking a collaborative approach, BTAM teams not only strengthen CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó’s overall mission, but also support the Student Code of Conduct, the Campus and Workplace Violence Policy, the Professional Rights and Responsibilities of Faculty Members and Roles, Professional Responsibilities of Academic Leaders, and the Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence and Stalking Policy.Ìý

The Threat Assessment Team (TAT)Ìý

TAT is situational, and activation based; engaging in a process by which they examine a threat, the motivations behind a threat, and the presence of any plans to carry out the threat. TAT serves to learn as much as possible about individuals who may pose a threat to the campus community and develops intervention plans to mitigate the risk of potential acts of violence. TAT is responsible for addressing and managing potential or imminent threats to campus safety involving individuals or groups that may pose a significant risk to the university community. TAT ensures a coordinated, informed, and proactive institutional response to potential violence, safety concerns, and external risks.Ìý

Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)

BIT engages in proactive and collaborative approaches to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with students, employees, affiliates, alumni, and former students exhibiting concerning behaviors. By partnering with members of the CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó community, BIT strives to promote individual well-being and success while prioritizing the CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó community’s safety and crisis prevention. The Behavioral Intervention Team is responsible for the assessment, intervention, and management of behavioral concerns involving members of the university community. BIT focuses on preventing situations from escalating to violence or significant disruption while promoting community well-being and individual support.Ìý
