The Department of Spanish & Portuguese Spring 2026 Recognition Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12pm - 1pm in Hale 270.

A reception will immediately follow in McKenna 103 and on the McKenna patio.

Our 2026 Commencement Speaker: Tyler Brayton

Tyler Brayton grew up in eastern Washington and graduated from Pasco High School where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He went on to play football at the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó, where he met his wife Sarah, and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in Spanish for the Professions. After college, Tyler was drafted by the Oakland Raiders and played 9 years in the NFL for the Raiders, Panthers and Colts. During that time he and his wife had 3 children: Levi (19), Riley (16) and Bailey (15). After his NFL career was over Tyler and his family moved back to Colorado and have lived in Littleton since 2013. He started his own welding business that he ran for 5 years before he stepped back into the game of football as a coach in 2021. He is currently in his 6th season at Arapahoe High School, 5th as the Head Coach. In 2023 he was named Centennial League Co-Coach of the Year and in 2024 he was named Playmaker’s Corner Coach of the year. Outside of football he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, supporting his kids in their activities and going on walks with his beloved dog, Peaches.
