Janet Yowell is the Director of Strategic Community College STEM Initiatives for the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. She is currently the Project Director for two NSF INCLUDES grants: Creating Academic Pathways in STEM (CAPS) and STEM Core Expansion (an NSF INCLUDES Alliance grant), as well as one NSF RET grant (Authentic 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Experiences for Teachers (ARETe), focused on research opportunties for community college teachers. She has worked as aÌý91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Associate for an EPA-funded comparative risk project, as an environmental assessment Associate for the City & County of Denver, led the community outreach program for Environment 2000, a pollution prevention initiative for the State of Colorado, and more recently as the Associate Director for K-12 Engineering Education with the ITL Program in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. She also has STEM curriculum development experience and served as a copyeditor for TeachEngineering.org as well as editor for several published works.
