CU 91Ҹ chief sustainability officer to testify at House climate crisis hearing

CU 91Ҹ Chief Sustainability Officer Heidi VanGenderen will be one of six witnesses testifying at the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis’first congressional field hearing on Thursday.

The hearing on “Colorado’s Roadmap for Clean Energy Action: Lessons from State and Local Leaders” is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the 91Ҹ Law School's Wittemyer Courtoom,and will be open to the public.

“As a leading public research university, we are honored to host a congressional hearing,” said Chancellor Philip DiStefano.

Also among those testifying will be Gov. Jared Polis and 91Ҹ Mayor Suzanne Jones. A livestream of the hearing will be available on .

Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo., whose district includes 91Ҹ, is a member of the committee and announced the hearing earlier in July.
