‘The Light Shines On’ nominated for Emmy
The Light Shines On, a film highlighting the story of the people, events and values that have made CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó esteemed in spirit and in work,Ìý for a National Academy of Television and Arts Sciences Heartland Chapter Emmy Award in the historical documentary category.
The film was created, produced and co-directed by CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó’s Charles Mangano. It covers everything from the early days of CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó and the university’s significant role in space toÌý stories of some of the great people in whose footsteps the community follows. It highlights legacies and traditions, such as employing one of the first female professors in the country and running a buffalo around Folsom Field on football game days.Ìý
The film officially premiered at the 2019 Conference on World Affairs.
