This college policy is intended to ensure that quality in offered courses remains high and that faculty have time to remain current in both their subject area and technology, adequate time to meet with individual students, and time to grade substantive written work.Ìý

91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty may take an additional teaching job that brings them up a 125% appointment, once per Calendar Year. For questions about this policy, please contact the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty HR (resfachr@colorado.edu)Ìý
Please note: the College of Arts and Sciences does not allow for any staff members who take on teaching duties to go over 100% twice in an Academic Year. In order to accept an additional teaching job, research faculty must comply with both of these stipulations.Ìý
Process for Generating an Additional Job Letter for 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó FacultyÌý
- Unit secures written/emailed approval from 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty HR for the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty Member to teach a course.
- 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty Member completes Courses Agreed to Teach Grid and submits to Unit.
- Note: 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty Member must include all courses taught for all units in the CU systems.
- Note: Courses Agreed to Teach Grids completed by the unit without the 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty Member’s signature are invalid.
- Unit submits the following documents to CAS Faculty Affairs for review, via email at CAS-Faculty@colorado.edu:
- Offer Letter Template – Additional Job – Teaching – Faculty and University Staff
- All comments should be read and resolved, and all highlighted sections should be updated and de-highlighted, before submitting to CAS Faculty Affairs
- Completed Courses Agreed to Teach Grid
- Written/emailed approval from 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty HR
- Offer Letter Template – Additional Job – Teaching – Faculty and University Staff
- Draft offer letter is reviewed by CAS Faculty Affairs.
- Once approved by CAS Faculty Affairs Coordinator, the approved offer letter is routed by CAS Faculty Affairs with a CC to the following via DocuSign:
- Unit
- 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Faculty Member’s home Unit/Institute
- Human Resources Service Center
- CAS Faculty Affairs Coordinator downloads completed letter to Personnel File.
- 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Campus HR Service Center enters appointment into HCM (Human Resources software).
- If any changes to the offer letter are needed after approval, the unit must fill out an addendum form.Ìý
