Reserve Equipment
MAKING A RESERVATION
To reserve equipment, you must claim your account in Cheqroom. To do so, you must log into the website using the SSO option. You will be redirected to log in through your buffportal.Ìý
You will not be able to reserve any equipment/studios on your initial login. Once your account is created, The Kage go in and edit your class permissions based on your enrollment. This process can take 24-48 hours from your initial log in, or longer if the kage has not received your class roster.Ìý
The Kage suggests logging into Cheqroom within the first week of classes.Ìý
If you want to speed up this process, then please email a kage with a list of all classes you're taking with a CINE prefix, along with which section you are in, and who your professor is.Ìý
Making a Reservation
All equipment must be reserved 12 hours in advance from your pick up time. If a student is unable to do so, they will be redirected to walk-in hours, or will be advised to make another order for the following day.Ìý
To reserve equipment, please follow the video below:Ìý
UPDATED VIDEO COMING SOONÌý
Depending on where a student is reserving equipment they will either pick up from The Kage in Atlas, or The Bunker in Macky. The student's order confirmation and email will tell them exactly where to go.Ìý
However, here's a good rule of thumb:Ìý
- If the student is taking CINE 2000: Moving Image Arts I and/or CINE 2610: Animation Production they will most likely pick up equipment from The Bunker in Macky.Ìý
- If the student is taking CINE 2500: Moving Image Arts II, CINE 3400: Cinema Production I, or CINE 4500: Cinema Production II they will most likely pick up equipment from The Kage in Atlas.Ìý
- If you are enrolled CINE class not specified above, you will most likely pick up equipment from the location closest to where your class is held. (You are required to denote what class you're checking out for on your reservation). Ìý
After making a reservation, a Kager will review your order and send you a order summary. Please review your order summary carefully to ensure you have all the information you need to pick up.Ìý
Late Pick Ups
If you are late by 1 hour or more to pick up your equipment, your reservation will be canceled and you will be asked to make a reservation for the next day. When you're reservation is cancelled, that equipment becomes available to students adjusting pre-existing orders, or creating a walk-in order.Ìý
Furthermore, the Kage will stage a order for pick up the day before. If you need to cancel, please notify us ASAP so we can adjust accordingly.
Picking Up and Checking Over Your Equipment
When you arrive to pick up, a Kager will point out any issues/quirks about your equipment. They will confirm if any of this is a hinder to your set, and will do their best to accommodate any issues.Ìý
You equipment is checked and pulled prior to your arrival. ÌýHowever, things happen. The Kage is run almost entirely by students who are learning like everyone else. Please check your equipment before leaving campus and report any problems ASAP. This will allow the Kage to resolve any issues with your order, or at the very least have a record in the system so you're not charged extra fees when returning.Ìý
We do not expect students to be experts on what is in our kits. So we've provided a variety of resources for students to use when checking their equipment: Information Tabs in Cheqroom, Kit Photos and Order Summaries.Ìý
Cheqroom isn't just used for reservations. It is also how the Kage keeps track of the status of individual items. Each item in cheqroom has an Info tab, that will show everything the Kage has on record pertaining to that item. Below is an example for a BlackMagic Pocket 4k:Ìý

Student will be able to see exactly what items are in each kit, as well as any items that are recorded as missing/damaged. If there kit does not match the description in Cheqroom, they should let the Kage know as soon as they can.Ìý
Most items will have Kit Photos. These are pictures students can reference to see what is in a kit and how the kit is organized. These photos can be found underneath the top foam of the case. This is a great reference if they're missing a particular item and are unsure what it's called. Below is an example for a Canon C200 Kit:Ìý

Order Summaries are PDFs attached to a student's order prior to their pick up. These documents act as confirmation of what is on their order, the state of each item on their order, and a notification to the student that their order's been priced out. While Order summaries do not show what is present in each kit, they do show what each kit is missing. Students can use this to check at a glance if they're run into any issues with the state of their gear, and make requests prior to their check out to make substitutions or adjustments.Ìý
Ìý
1. Make sure you have an account in Cheqroom. Email the kage with a list of CINE classes you're enrolled in if you think your account permissions are incorrect.
2. Remember to click "Reserve". If you do not reserve your order that equipment is still available for other students.
3. An order summary will be attached to your reservation the day before your pick up. This document will inform you what's on your reservation, any known issues with equipment, and what location you'll be picking equipment up from.Ìý
4. Check over your Equipment and report any issues prior to leaving campus and report any issues ASAP
