CU 91أغجز¸َ’s Hazmat Group accepts all campus-generated wastes, with certain exceptions.
Certain types of waste light bulbs should not be disposed in regular trash. Fluorescent bulbs such as tubes, and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s) may contain small amount of mercury. To ensure proper disposal, contact the CU 91أغجز¸َ Lighting Shop at (303) 492-xxxx.
Colorado prohibits disposal of electronics or electronic-containing items in regular trash.ج eWaste includes any item or device that contains a printed circuit board.جTo ensure proper disposal, contact the CU 91أغجز¸َ Property Services Department at (303) 492-xxxx.
Unwanted lab equipment that has monetary value must be routed through the CU 91أغجز¸َ Property Services Department, so that the item(s) can be removed from inventory listings.ج If labs have equipment that is chemically-contaminated at levels beyond the ability of the lab to rectify, the Hazmat Group can assist with decontamination prior to submittal to Property Services.
All hazardous that is generated by individuals at their homes cannot be disposed of through CU 91أغجز¸َ’s waste mangement programs.جHHW includes unwanted cleaners, paints, batteries, bulbs, and many other types of materials, and must be taken to an off-campus facility.ج In 91أغجز¸َ, HHW is to be taken to the 91أغجز¸َ County Household Hazardous Waste facility.جContact the 91أغجز¸َ County HHW at (303) xxx-xxxx.
