STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellowship
The STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellowship provides an opportunity for graduate and postdoctoral students to hone their teaching, communication and project management skills.Ìý
STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellows mentor an undergraduate or community college student on a STARLIT-related research project through the SPUR Program. Fellows submit a research project proposal by January 31, 2025, help select a student, and oversee the students' research efforts over summer 2025.
STARLIT award funding covers the students' wages, and also provides a stipend to STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellows. Please see the fourth bullet below.Ìý
STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellows commit to mentoring SPUR students for 4 - 8 hours per week for 10 weeks in summer 2025. 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellows benefit from wraparound administrative support with intern selection, onboarding, scheduling, and programming. This enables Fellows to focus their time and efforts on mentoring.
STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellows receive the following benefits and recognition for their efforts:Â
- $1,000 stipend
- Internship administration support
- Opportunity to list 'STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellow' on resumés and CVs
- Opportunity to use the STARLIT 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Mentor Fellowship to fulfill the CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó Doctoral Practicum (for doctoral students in aerospace engineering only)
- Letter of Support from Dr. Marcus Holzinger, STARLIT Principal Investigator
