Campus AED Program

The Division of Public Safety works with CU EMS to inspect and maintain where needed AEDs across CU 91ÃÛÌÒ¸ó. If your department has an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), we can help ensure it's always ready.Ìý

Why it Matters

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) must be properly maintained to function when they are needed most. Batteries and electrode pads expire, and devices may become damaged, relocated, or inaccessible over time. In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, there is no margin for error.Ìý

Colorado regulations require AEDs to be maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. CU EMS offers AED inspections for campus departments, including verification of battery and pad expiration dates, device condition, and accessibility; helping ensure AEDs are ready for immediate use when every second counts.Ìý
