Changing your password

Change your password through the web by going to , and clicking on the “Password change” card, or by going directly to .

Terminal (SSH) connection

  1. Use your preferred SSH client to connect to workshop.colorado.edu.
  2. Or use the web based ssh client through
  3. Login with your Workshop username and password

RStudio

  1. Login to
  2. Select RStudio from the “Interactive Apps” menu, or click the button under “Pinned Apps”

Detailed Instructions for changing your password

This password is only for access to OnDemand, the ISGW Forum uses its own password, which must be

  1. Go to and click the "Password change" tile
  2. or, go directly to
  3. Click "Log In" at the top left corner
  4. Enter your ISG Workshop username and your old password
  5. Click the "Log In" button
  6. Enter what you want to use as a new password into the two fields
    1. There is no restrictions on how poor of a password you can use
    2. Click the "Change password" button at the bottom of the page

Detailed Instructions for OnDemand

  1. Go to the Workshop tools page at

  2. Click on the OnDemand tile

  3. Use your Workshop username and password to login to OnDemand

  4. From the OnDemand home screen, select your desired application from the tiles at the bottom or the "Interactive Apps" menu

  5. RStudio
    1. Unless instructed otherwise, leave the default values for "Number of hours" and "Number of cores"
    2. RStudio will exit when the time expires
    3. Press the "Launch" button to start RStudio, you may have to scroll down to see the "Launch" button

    5. This will take you to the RStudio queuing page where you wait while the system prepares to launch RStudio

    6. After a brief time RStudio will be ready to start, then click the "Connect to RStudio Server"

    7. Your browser will go to a blank white page with a spinning icon
    8. Within a minute RStudio will launch
  6. Command line terminal
    1. Unless instructed otherwise, leave the "Number of hours" and "Number of cores" fields at the default
    2. If you do not like the default, then adjust the "Font Size" to any value that is comfortable for you
    3. If you have a preference between Tmux and screen, then choose the one you prefer, but if you do not know what this means, then take the default

    4. Scroll down and click "Launch"

    5. Like with RStudio there will be a waiting screen as resources are allocated

    6. Once a terminal has been prepared, click the "Connect" button

    7. A command line terminal will start in your browser tab
